It's finally Friday! I am looking forward to a low key weekend after all the the traveling we have been up to this month.
My favorite four this week (clockwise from top left) 1-Sadly one of our dear friends is moving so we had a going away party for her this week. However it was fun getting together with all of the girls and eating some delicious food. 2-Monday we headed into the city for a movie in the park...it was such a gorgeous night! 3-After the movie we stopped in for a late night snack at the Shake Shack...it just opened in Philly and we finally made it into eat....it was so good! 4-Picnics in the park are one of my all time favorite summer activities and we were able to have Wednesday night:)
See you Monday! xoxo

Strawberry Picking
Strawberry picking is a favorite summer activity of mine. I was able to go a few weeks ago when it was prime time. Here are a few photos from the day...xoxo.
Strawberry fields.
Finding the strawberries hiding under their bush.
Starting to collect.
Strawberry stained fingers.
The delicious ripe strawberries we came home with.

Summer Attire
As a nanny I spend lots of time at the pool and occasionally the shore. So a swim suit is something I spend lots of time in. I absolutely despise tan lines so a strapless one piece is my go to. Here is what I am wearing this summer...xoxo.
Cover-up:H&M, Suit:H&M, Flip-Flops:Old Navy, Sunglasses:Forever 21, Sunblock: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch SPF 45

Friendship Bracelets
While we were in Maine we had lots of down time so I brought a few activities to do. Friendship bracelets are all the rage these days so I thought I would bring along a kit. I didn't enjoy it nearly as much as I did when I was a pre-teen but between all of us we managed to finish a few. Here is how they turned out...xoxo.
The materials...an instruction book/thread set I found at the local craft store for only $4.99!
Starting our bracelets...easiest if you safety pin your bracelet to your pant leg.
Some of us had a little confusion with the whole process while others could do two at once!
The finished bracelets.

Night Market
Hope you had a great weekend! We had such a relaxed time in Maine it may be a little hard for me to get back into the swing of things this week. But I'm excited to show you pictures and tell you all about it next week.
One of the things I love about living in a big city is all of the activities going on. The Philadelphia Night Market is just one of the many fun ones this city has to offer. It is a monthly market where over 60 food trucks come together in a Philadelphia neighborhood to offer almost anything you could possibly want...food wise that is.
The latest one just happened to be in our neck of the woods (see photos). The next one is this Thursday, June 28th from 6-10 at 9th and Washington Ave, so if you are in the area don't miss out! xoxo.
So many trucks and people along 2nd Street.
Too many delicious trucks to choose from.
My favorite treat from last time...Frobana...it tastes like ice cream but it really is only a pureed banana!

Favorite Four
We have loved being in Maine this last week. Sadly we have to go home tomorrow and leave this beautiful state, but I can't wait to tell you all about soon.
My favorite four today are all from this past week in 'Vacationland' (what it says on the licence plate)...(clockwise from top left) 1-On Sunday we started out the trip with a little drive through Acadia National Park so we could see what it had to offer. Half way through we stopped at Jordan's Pond House for their famous popovers. It was a beautiful day and the view was incredible. 2-On our drive up on Saturday we stopped in Portland to check out the city. I saw this fun taco shop on the drive into town and knew that is where we had to have lunch. It was too cute and if you know me you know I am a lover of tacos. It ended up being everything I hoped:) 3-Acadia is filled with gorgeous hikes...and we have done our share! I can say I am one tired girl but glad to have done them. 4-On Monday night we went out for the infamous Maine lobster. It was quite the messy experience.
Have a great weekend and see you Monday...xoxo!

My Capture Tool
In my first day of design school our teacher told us we needed to have a 'capture tool' with us at all times. A 'capture tool' is a notebook you write down or draw your ideas in when they come to you. I have been using one ever since that class 10 years ago, carrying it around in my purse at all times. I just finished using this black one and I am starting to use this tan one. Depending on the size of the notebook I use them for about a year before they get filled and I need to start a new one. Yeah for capturing ideas! xoxo

Barn Sale
On Sunday I stopped in at a barn sale in the Manayunk neighborhood of Philadelphia. I had heard about this fun event that is held every so often at Three Potato Four but was never able to go. So when I was going to be around this time I jumped at the opportunity. It was inspiring to see all the fun things they had for sale and how they displayed everything. Here are some pictures from the outing. xoxo
Rival Bros coffee truck was in the courtyard for your caffeine needs.
Love the address font on their door.
Fun finds...

Atlantic City
Last weekend Ben and I headed down to Atlantic City, NJ for a little getaway. We stayed at the Chelsea...'the Chelsea captures imaginations by conjuring the long-lost glamour and sophistication of this seaside resort town'. Here are a few pictures of our weekend retreat. xoxo
The black and white stripe pool cabanas were simply stunning.
Fun finds at the Chelsea (clockwise from top left) The best cocktail I have had in a while, the Ginger Pear Man; fun graphic design for our hotel key envelope; Jack and Jill signs for the bathrooms; the retro headboard and lamp in our room.
Walking the famous boardwalk at night.
Getting dinner at the latest and greatest Atlantic City addition: the grand REVEL.
A morning walk on the beach right outside our hotel.

Planters
Happy Monday! We spent most of the weekend in the wilderness camping and hiking with friends. And on Sunday I hit up a barn sale which I am excited to post about soon! Hope you had a great weekend as well.
Our new loft has large warehouse doors that open up onto our cobblestone street. We love the easy access with Berlin (our dog) but the entrance is somewhat bland so I thought I would spice things up with planters. I started my search...wanting 4+ foot tall planters to flank the large doors but once I started searching I realized they were way more expensive then I wanted to spend for our rental loft. So I went to look for other large planter options. I found these great plastic tubs for $4.99 which looked exactly like some $60 planters I loved. Here is my process...xoxo.

The materials; 2 tubs, potting soil and 4 large bricks.
We made holes in the bottom of the tubs for drainage and cut off the handles so that it would look more like a planter then a tub.
I put 2 large bricks in the bottom of the tubs before pouring the soil over them to make them heavy and less likely to get stolen:)
Before and after with Berlin checking things out.
And the finished product with the grass growing in them. I opted for grass seed rather then potted plants since I usually can't keep flowers alive:)

Favorite Four
It's finally Friday! I don't have to work today so we are heading out early for a weekend of camping with friends. I am excited to be in the wilderness for a few days.
My favorite four from this week (clockwise from top left) 1-It was so cool outside this week compared to the 90 degrees we had last week so we spent lots of time outside, this picture is of a park near our house we walked through to get ice cream. 2-Getting to do some sidewalk chalk with the little girls I nanny...this particular design was Pinterest inspired:) 3-We tried out the popular new outdoor restaurant in our city. It is a great atmosphere and beautiful setting right on the river next to the Ben Franklin Bridge. 4-Fresh fruit is a delicious sign of summer. Here I had cut up some fruit to make sangria...yum!
Have a great weekend! xoxo

New York City Attire
It's always a challenge for me to figure out what I should wear to NYC. I want to look somewhat fashionable but most importantly comfortable and practical with all of the walking we do. These gold shoes are some of my most comfortable and a cross body purse is practical so this is what I figured out for this trip to NYC. Thanks for taking the photos Charis! xoxo
Shoes:Famous Footwear, Purse:H&M, Shirt:LOFT via thrift store, Shorts:Old Navy, Sunglasses:Charming Charlie, Bracelet:Vintage, Earrings:NYC street vendor.

New York City
Last weekend I headed to NYC for the day with 2 of my girlfriends. It is one of my favorite places and I take every opportunity I can to get up there. Here are some of the spots we stopped on this trip to the Big Apple. xoxo
So many markets...here is the Union Square Market and a 10+ block market on Lexington Ave.
My new favorite NYC find...Fishers Eddy...such a fun store!
First trip to the popular indoor Eataly Market.
Fun in Madison Square; the market filled with bright Marimekko umbrellas, the famous Shake Shack and New Yorkers sunning themselves.
A stop in at the Marimekko store...so bright and colorful...always love a stop in there.
Walking the Highline...it is probably my favorite place in NYC.
No stop to the city is complete with out a little shopping in SOHO.
Riding the Staten Island Ferry back to our car...goodnight Lady Liberty.
