Girls Trip to the Magnolia Silos

This weekend my mom, sister and I met in Waco, TX to shop and see Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Silos! It was definitely a highlight of my year.  We booked a house to stay at through Airbnb and it was one of the homes from Fixer Upper!!! It was so beautiful and the craftsmanship was perfect!  Below are a few tips and a lot of pics (sorry there are a lot!) for your visit.

Tips...
-Visit the silos during the week if you can...it can get pretty busy on the weekend. We went Friday/Saturday and went right when they opened and didn't have any problems.

-Check out the Baylor Football schedule for home games. The lodging books up fast on those weekends!

Eat...
-Lula Jane's Bakery
-Common Ground Coffee
-Dicotomy Coffee and Spirits
-Lots of lunch options at the Silos with so many food trucks!
-Moroso Wood Fired Pizza
-Olive Branch
-Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant
-Silos Baking Co.

Shop...
-The Magnolia Silos!
-Spice Village
-The Findery
-Interior Glow

Just outside the shop.

Yummy yummy cupcakes!

And beautiful flower boxes outside the Baking Co.

Yea...no lines!

So many fun things in the shop.

And so much to do on the grounds...

Delicious food trucks!

And adorable picnic tables!

And lawn games!

The Downs House from Fixer Upper!

Couldn't resist a photo with all of the shiplap:)

Midnight snack!

Fun bakery to visit!

Afternoon mocha break.

A delicious breakfast!

So much fun shopping to do at the Spice Village! Loved this display.

A walk across the iconic Waco Suspension Bridge.

Thanks for a fun trip Waco! xoxo

Halloween Pre-Party

Since I can remember we have always had sloppy joes and finger jello before trick or treating...now that we are trick or treating with our own kids we need to keep the tradition alive. So we invited a few friends over to party with us before heading out. xoxo

Evangeline waiting patiently for her friends.

Why not add cupcakes to the sugar rush:)

And the finger jello pumpkins.

And the delicious sides everyone brought to share.

Misc Magenta House: Back Porch

This is where we spend most of our afternoons and dinners this time of year. I love that there are gates on both sets of stairs so there isn't as much of a temptation for the littles to want to leave. We have tricycles, a slide and sidewalk chalk to keep them busy. Enjoy! xoxo

We use this lobster crate we got on a trip to Maine 4 years ago for the step stool for the slide. The pink bucket holds the sidewalk chalk.

Misc Magenta House: Playroom/Guestroom

This is probably my favorite room in the house...it has so much fun...not to mention the light and color.  When we were deciding what to do with this room we knew we needed a guestroom but didn't want a large bed in there so we couldn't use it for anything else so we found this futon (which I think is actually pretty comfortable). So here are the pics...enjoy! xoxo

Misc Magenta House: Master Bedroom

When I was planning to post about our house I definitely thought the last post would be on the master bedroom...it just happens to be where all of the random boxes get stashed while we are getting settled after a move. This time around I actually went through all of those boxes! Yea! So here is our little get away from the rest of the house. xoxo

His side...

Her side.

Love the crackling fireplace station on Netflix for those chilly mountain nights.

My jewelry nook in the closet.

The fun map print above our bed is of the neighborhood we lived in in Philly.

This weekend my girlfriend and I hosted our second annual fall clothing swap. We love hosting a party and when you get cute free clothes out of the deal it is a win win! Here are the pics from our swap and if you'd like to host a swap of your own you can look back at this one I hosted in Philly...I put the how to guide in that post. xoxo

The hostesses ready for the ladies to arrive!

The coffee bar...and a big bucket of La Croix.

The brunch and mimosa table.

The bags with the ladies names on them ready to be filled with their treasures.

Accessories!

Dresses/coats etc.

The Radio Flyer filled with shoes and boots.

Skirts and pants.

The brunch table full of yummy food the ladies brought!

And of course a good party always has party favors:)

Here are the pictures of our Living/Dining and Kitchen...enjoy! xoxo

I found this EAT sign for only $22 at the local Flea for Y'all!

We bought our own chandelier for the space...I am loving it!

Rustic/vintage boxes on top of the fridge for bread.

Moving...

The entry porch on our newest rental.

8 times to be exact. In our 12 year marriage Ben and I have moved 8 times, in 4 different states. Probably seems like a lot to some people and nothing to others. I kind of always thought we would get married and stay put (and I hope to do that in the near future) but I wouldn't trade our adventures for anything! Moving every few years really makes me want to settle in right away by getting pictures hung, and finding a place for everything within the first month of being there so we feel comfortable there.

Our latest move is to a darling little house with lots of natural light! We painted all the walls a light grey to make it feel more like our own. I've loved decorating this house and can't wait to show you all of the rooms! Over the next few weeks I will post each room and show you what we've done.
(I've been posting little sneak peaks on my Instagram feed:)

Thanks for checking into Misc Magenta even though I've been away from it for so long. Trying to raise 2 toddlers and run my Arbonne business has been keeping me busy, but I love to blog when I can and hope to do it more frequently. We have a few fun things and trips coming up as well this fall so I should have plenty to blog about for a while. xoxo
