Favorite Four

This morning we are headed up to NYC for the weekend to spend time with my sister and her beau who are in town for a wedding. So excited to see them! Hope you enjoy your long weekend. xoxo

My favorite four this week (clockwise fro top left) 1- I was invited to go to the Madonna concert on Tuesday night...it was extremely entertaining and we had box seats so the unlimited free food and drinks didn't hurt.
2-Excited that is it finally getting cool enough that we can have bon fires in our courtyard again...one of my favorite things! 3-W were invited to our friends house for Sunday brunch and it was a delicious Southern dinner of shrimp and grits..yum! 4-September means fashion magazines, fashion week etc. love it all!

Excelsior, MN

I promise this is my last Minnesota post for a while. But here are a few pics from the day we spent in the cute Lake town of Excelsior, MN. It is just outside the Twin Cities on the gorgeous Lake Minnetonka. There are plenty of cute shops, restaurants and a trolley and boat tour to keep you busy for a day trip. I didn't take too many pictures but here are a few for you to get an idea. xoxo

Lake Attire

When we are up at the lake I end up spending most of the time in a swimsuit and cover up. You never know when you might need to jump in the lake or have an urge to water ski. Thanks to my good friend Janie for taking these photos.

Up at the Lake

This was our 25th year heading up to the lake in northern Minnesota. We have been going to the same resort and same August week the entire time. Such fun memories we have there. Here are a few photos from our vacation. xoxo

Lots of time paddle boarding.

Many hours spent reading in the shade.

A little fishing.

Our favorite spot 'in town'.

Lawn games.

Home-made ice cream sandwiches.

And never a shortage of water sports.

Minneapolis' Mill District

Last weekend we were able to spend a weekend with good friends in Minneapolis before flying back to Philly. We spent a lot of time on the beautiful Mississippi river in the Mill District at Gold Medal Park, the Guthrie Theater and Stone Arch Bridge. If you are in the Twin Cities I urge you to check out this beautiful place. xoxo

Baby!?!

After 10 years together and almost 8 years of marriage Ben and I are having a baby! It seems so surreal but we couldn't be happier. Baby Brandenburg will make it's debut around February 23rd. This is how we announced it...

Minnesota Home

While I was in Minnesota I spent some time at my parent's house. It is where I grew up so it is always good to be there. I look forward to seeing all the fun changes my mom has done. Something is always re-arranged, re-covered or painted. She has a great knack with home decor with a Scandinavian flare. Here are a few pictures of their home. xoxo

Crepes

One of my favorite brunch items are crepes with all of its delicious toppings. Here is the recipe and toppings I love...

Crepes:
3 eggs
3 tablespoons flour
3 tablespoons sugar
milk (to a runny consistency)

*this will make you about 6 crepes....double or triple for more.

After mixing everything together, to a runny consistency, you are ready to make the crepes. Make sure your pan is warm and you have a no-stick cooking spray to use between every crepe you pour. After pouring the crepe swirl batter around the pan to make it as thin as possible. Crepes should be paper thin.

Once all your crepes are ready eat immediately. Here are some of my favorite topping ideas.

Toppings:
-Strawberries and whip cream
-Applesauce and cinnamon/sugar
-Peanut butter and bananas
-Butter and cinnamon/sugar
-Jam

*these are just a few ideas...be creative with it!

My favorite...strawberries and whip cream!

I would have them all the time when I lived in Sweden but they just recently came to the U.S. and I still think of it as a really special treat every time I have one. 3-I drove by the Divine Lorraine this week, it is my favorite Philadelphia building.  So beautiful and sadly abandoned. 4-I got all these gladiolas for $3 this week...they are so stunning!

Have a great weekend...xoxo!
