Christmas Cookies

What a fun and relaxed December weekend! Lots of baking, friends over for dinner, I hosted a mini pop-up shop for my girlfriends...not to mention a shopping and coffee date with my 3 year old daughter on Saturday afternoon! These are the cookies I bake almost every year and package up to give to friends.  Here is the cookie recipe I use. I had some of the cute cupcake boxes left from our trip to the Magnolia Silos last month so I am using those to package up and deliver to friends. Below are the pics...Enjoy! xoxo

I love these cookies!

The fun cupcake boxes I had saved from our Magnolia trip!

Packaging them up with wax paper to separate.

Packaged up and ready to deliver!

Wreath Workshop & Christmas Party

What a fun girls night! Last night we went to a friends beautiful house, on top of a mountain, here in Asheville for a wreath making workshop and Christmas party. It couldn't have been more fun and who knew wreath making isn't even that tricky?!  Here are pics from the night and a mini tutorial on how to make your own wreath!

Her beautiful and gigantic MAGENTA tree!

What you'll need to make your wreath:
-A straw wreath form
- Pruning clippers
-Floral pins
-Greenery...we used Frasier Fir, Boxwood, Magnolia leaves etc.
-Any flowers, bows or extra decor you want to put in your wreath
-A spray bottle with floor wax and water to spray on after you are done so that
the wreath will last longer. (only spray the greenery...not the extra trimmings:)

All of the greenery...filling up the entire car!

Just start making little bundles of greenery and
attach them to the wreath form with a floral pin and that is it!
I went in and added pinecones etc at the end
(after I sprayed it with the floor wax/water combo) with wire.

Some of the ladies hard at work!

We made quite a mess:)

All of us with our beautiful wreaths!

Winter One-Der Land First Birthday

This weekend we hosted Thanksgiving for 15 family members! It was a fun and busy weekend, even managing to squeeze in the first birthday party of my niece Blakely. Below are photos from the birthday brunch. xoxo

Our Thanksgiving Decor: Kids Table

We don't have a big house so I was really hoping the kids table would be out on the deck...unfortunately I don't think it will be in the 70s like it was last week. So the kids will be sitting in the kids nook of our living room. I was able to find everything I needed in the thanksgiving end cap at Target! Loved these colorful turkey plates and paper table cloth to color. Have a fabulous Thanksgiving! xoxo (click here to check out the adult table)

'Five Silly Turkeys' is a favorite Thanksgiving book in our house.

This table cloth is ready to be colored!

Love all of the color!

Our Thanksgiving Decor

Thanksgiving is next week! And we are hosting this year, which you've probably noticed from my instagram account. I love hosting and all the prep that goes into it. So naturally I need to do a dry run to make sure I have everything we need. Below are a few photos of my table and outdoor decor. I'm sure a few things will change since we still have a week to go and my creative juices don't stop when I'm in hosting mode but this is what it will most likely look like.

I had seen this amazing table runner when we were at Magnolia Silos two weeks ago but it was way out of my price range so I tried to make something similar. I got a large roll of kraft paper and painted this plaid pattern on it. I love the table's mix of glass, silver, and the natural elements of pumpkins and pinecones!

I will also have a kids table so I will try and get some of those photos up before Thanksgiving as well. Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving! xoxo

Our front door decor. Love those funky pumpkins.

Girls Trip to the Magnolia Silos

This weekend my mom, sister and I met in Waco, TX to shop and see Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Silos! It was definitely a highlight of my year.  We booked a house to stay at through Airbnb and it was one of the homes from Fixer Upper!!! It was so beautiful and the craftsmanship was perfect!  Below are a few tips and a lot of pics (sorry there are a lot!) for your visit.

Tips...
-Visit the silos during the week if you can...it can get pretty busy on the weekend. We went Friday/Saturday and went right when they opened and didn't have any problems.

-Check out the Baylor Football schedule for home games. The lodging books up fast on those weekends!

Eat...
-Lula Jane's Bakery
-Common Ground Coffee
-Dicotomy Coffee and Spirits
-Lots of lunch options at the Silos with so many food trucks!
-Moroso Wood Fired Pizza
-Olive Branch
-Ninfa's Mexican Restaurant
-Silos Baking Co.

Shop...
-The Magnolia Silos!
-Spice Village
-The Findery
-Interior Glow

Just outside the shop.

Yummy yummy cupcakes!

And beautiful flower boxes outside the Baking Co.

Yea...no lines!

So many fun things in the shop.

And so much to do on the grounds...
